The following places offer some great walking trails a short car drive from the house:

Bough Beech Nature Reserve | 8 min drive
The reserve attracts a wide variety of birds and other aquatic life. The surrounding woods, fields and streams also support a rich variety of wildlife.

Bore Place | 20 min drive

A 500-acre site and charitable organisation which combines organic and regenerative land management with programmes that support learning, wellbeing, and connection with nature.

There are some lovely short trail walks suitable for all the family and longer cycle rides mapped on their website here.

Ashdown Forest | 12 min drive
Explore the home of Winnie The Pooh with a walk around the Ashdown Forest. Stop for lunch or a drink at the cosy Gallipot Inn, Hartfield.
